A Beautiful Western Red Cedar Deck with Special Access
As an Ottawa deck builder we build decks in Bridlewood….like this cedar deck.
This one was extra special as we created need access to the backyard with ease. The wood is Western Red Cedar which is a commonly used softwood here in Ottawa for decks.
There was a bit of a challenge with this project as we were limited with space and that we had to match the elevation of the interlock patio…and we executed it perfectly!
The cedar was sealed with a penetrating oil by Cutek Extreme. Different from traditional stains which are a surface coating this oil goes into the wood and prevents the wood from drying out and fading. Re-application is a breeze and does not peel.
This is the view going from the front of the house to the backyard. Another detail that mattered. You can see how we also had to match the sil of the door to allow for an easy wheel out…not to worry there is a small ledge on that top step.
The client had a vision on this project and we told them not to worry…this is gonna look amazing. We got the comment “OMG! We didn’t think it was gonna look this good!” That is one of our most heard comments to date.
