Curved Deck on Preston Street in Ottawa

This deck we built for Pubwell’s which is located in Little Italy on Preston Street. This was built during the pandemic when the City of Ottawa was trying to come up with creative ideas to get small businesses in the service industry to be able to be profitable…..and this one one of them.

In design we were limited on height due to it being right next to the sidewalk and being a commercial project, however there were no setbacks required from the sidewalk.  The client decided it was best to build the deck right up to the sidewalk to maximize their patio space….this created the curve naturally.

In material choice we framed with 2×6 and installed on deck blocks. The 2×6 was to keep the height as low as possible and the deck block were due to utilities being right under the deck. The deck was finished using pressure treated deck boards as well as cedar railing and pergola.

The owner was thrilled with the completed project and couldn’t wait to show it off to his customers.
